Montague Island Spring Special

Stay overnight on this beautiful nature reserve and experience spring wildlife at its best. Project Focus: Tawaharanui, New Zealand

Tawaharanui is close to offshore islands and also acts as a stepping stone for the dispersal of native birds like Kereru and Kaka. Bellbird for example, colonised Tawharanui from Little Barrier Island in 2006 and are now widespread throughout the park. Volunteers will work with the control of exotic plant species along Tawharanuis beaches, and predator control/monitoring within areas of bush and farmland.
